I was first introduced to McIntosh by a customer and I now understand why this manufacturer has such a strong following. Bomb proof build, outstanding attention to detail and and sound quality to match.
McIntosh equipment has very distinctive looks, harking back to the great Hi Fi days of the eighties when equipment was built to take pride of place in the living room. With glowing blue/green fascias and retro looking VU meters some people feel they are an acquired taste, a bit like Marmite. Personally I like it, I like it a lot.
Looks aside the important bit is they sound wonderful from their smallest integrated system to a home theater system costing hundreds of thousands of pounds.
